The urge to help others should transcends one’s current situation, but in another way, may be contingent upon one’s personal experience and willingness. This simply means that if helping the needy is only done when it’s convenient, then nobody will get help.
As Mahatma Gandhi puts it, “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. This is what JOA Foundation is about.
The Julius Olufemi Abogunrin Foundation, hereinafter known as “JOA Foundation” was unofficially founded in 2010 to provide help to prospective students, who have shown great willingness to be educated.
Also, Julius Olufemi Abogunrin himself was part of the team who went to rural areas in Oyo State, Kwara State and others to see to the needs of villagers, including their health and spiritual needs.
This is why over the years, we are committed to improving access to education, offering scholarships, supplies, and tutoring to underserved populations, in a bid to eradicate ignorance.
We also provide medical aid to the sick, especially mentally incapacitated individuals, and support mental health programmes. We do this by organising symposiums. Our reasons are simple.
1 out of 8 people in the world experience a mental disorder, where about 703,000 people die by suicide each year, making it one of the leading causes of death among young people. The main issue is that this has cost the world $1trillion yearly, in terms of productivity loss.
In sum, we provide aids in the area of Education, Health, Disaster Relief, Environmental Conservation, and poverty Alleviation
Providing quality education to children in rural areas is our top priority. We offer resources, scholarships, and support to bridge educational gaps, empowering children with knowledge and opportunities to build a brighter, self-sufficient future.
